Resilient Point Roberts: Going Solar is a community-led initiative to learn about the benefits of solar energy and how to get the best prices and services for our homes and community buildings.
Is solar right for you?
-
Reach out to get an estimate on how much a solar installation and/or battery backup would cost for your home and how much money you will save over time on electricity. This work is free thanks to a Washington State Decarbonization Grant.
-
As a group, we will request proposals from contractors to leverage our buying power. We will evaluate their bids based on our criteria (e.g. reputation, price, quality of materials, options provided to residences, timeline for installation, ability to come to Point Roberts to install, ability to provide follow up quality service and maintenance).
Please note all final costs will be determined by the solar installer based on your project and the terms negotiated through our Point Roberts Going Solar RFP process.
-
Being a part of the RFP does not commit you to any contractor and you may opt out at any time.
The selected contractor will work with each resident to design, price, and install a solar system. The contractor’s relationship will be with each resident under the pre-negotiated terms.
The Point Roberts Going Solar community will support its members to ensure that the contractor lives up to the terms of their agreement including future maintenance and repair.rt
